General information

Taunton School International staff aim to meet students’ individual needs and to prepare them academically, socially and pastorally for their next school. Students can relax and enjoy the facilities at Taunton School International and Taunton School. Taunton School International have two spacious recreation rooms with large screen TV, pool tables and sofa area. There are also a couple of IT rooms. There are large gardens and huge playing fields behind Taunton School International which are popular especially in the summer. In the gardens there is a basketball net, outdoor table tennis and table football.

Students are able to use the school’s facilities which include two swimming pools, fitness suite, 20 tennis courts, sports fields, 2 Astro turfs, three sports halls, squash courts, two theatres, chapel, music school and music technology suite, photography suite, art studios and library.

Summer School for Children

The programme include 15 hours English per week: accurate use of spoken and written English, reading and writing skills, development of vocabulary, listening and pronunciation, confidence building and fluency and academic focus. Oxford Placement Test for every Senior Summer School student at the end of their course.

All students study other academic subjects (10 hours per week), and have the opportunity to study up to six other subjects during a three week course. Classes may involve class work, project work and visits to local places of interest.

Week course includes:

20 hours English language;
10 hours academic subjects;
daytime and evening activities;
1 full-day excursion.

Activities

The activity and excursion programme is fully integrated into school life and allows opportunities for pupils to undertake historical, cultural, commercial and physical activities. They are fully occupied and supervised both on site and off and can take advantage of the excellent facilities of Taunton School.

Evening activities include: cinema, bowling, Arts & Crafts, archery, Talent Show, Laser Tag, Ice Skating. Some of the weekend excursions undertaken recently are: City Tours to Bournemouth, Bath, Cardiff or Bristol, visit Paignton Zoo , Taunton High Ropes, Woodlands Centre or Crealy Adventure Park.
