General information
Wimbledon School of English is a medium-sized and extremely friendly school, established in 1964 to teach English to students from overseas. It is one of the oldest schools in the UK accredited by the British Council, member of EnglishUK and Quality English. The school has about 180 students from over 30 different countries, and offers a wide range of courses to students aged 16 and above. Wimbledon School of English is a lovely building with a large and beautiful garden situated in the centre of the attractive London suburb of Wimbledon, just 5 minutes from the station, shops and other facilities.
The school is a modern teaching centre providing warm & welcoming atmosphere, the individual attention, and all the necessary equipment required for effective learning of English including a multimedia centre, free internet access & WiFi. Wimbledon School of English pays special attention to students’ entertainments. It offers free sports (including tennis!) and an extensive range of social activities.Wimbledon is one of London’s loveliest areas with everything you need on the doorstep and Central London only 20 minutes away.
There is plenty to do in Wimbledon – fashionable shops in Centre Court Shopping Centre, one of London’s largest cinemas, two theatres, sports & fitness clubs, a swimming pool, several nightclubs and over 200 cafes, bars, pubs & restaurants – all only a few minutes from the school.
There is also Wimbledon Village, one of London’s traditional villages, where you can find designer shops and high-class restaurants, traditional country pubs and typical English houses and cottages. Next to the Village is Wimbledon Common, a large natural area (460 hectares) of grassland, woods and lakes, perfect for horse riding, jogging, walking with friends or playing a round of golf. And of course, it is home to the famous All England Lawn Tennis Club which brings the top names in tennis to the school’s doorstep every summer.
Wimbledon is the perfect location if you want to enjoy everything London has to offer but live near your school and study in a safe and pleasant environment.

Хочу выразить благодарность компании EFL за отличную работу по организации моей двухнедельной поездки в Wimbledon School of English ( General English 20, level Advanced plus).
На протяжении всего подготовительного процесса и во время моего пребывания в Лондоне Ева была моим главным консультантом и помощником во всех вопросах, связанных с обучением и проживанием (да и в остальных тоже)).
Про обучение могу сказать " Хорошо, но мало!!! " Имеет смысл брать 4-недельный и более курс. Если будет возможность, так в следующий раз и сделаю - и только через компанию EFL и вместе с моим любимым менеджером Евой.
Я проходила курс English for Law в WSE в течение 4 недель этим лето.
Вкратце, курс полезен только тем, кто уже имеет представление о English Legal System, поэтому для себя я его считаю полезным, так как за 4 недели перед экзаменом (ILEC) удалось вспомнить лексику и потренироваться сдавать типовые тесты. Для тех, кто не имеет понятия об английской системе права и никогда с ней не сталкивался в учебниках или другой литературе данный курс мало чем поможет, так как курс нацелен на охват лексики и методики сдачи. Учителя являются хорошими преподавателями языка, но не юристами. поэтому им порой тяжело было объяснить разницу в терминах, так как они не владеют такой информацией. Учебный день довольно насыщен.
Вывод: если Вы владеете как минимум начальными знаниями юридического английского, курс полезен, если Вы надеетесь все выучить непосредственно в школе, Вам будет очень тяжело при сдаче экзамена, особенно если Ваш уровень ниже B2.
Тем не менее, курс мне понравился, компании EFL спасибо за содействие!
Учился в Wimbledon School of English 2 месяца, отличная школа, встретил там много хороших людей, очень хороший состав преподавателей. Уимблдон - очень тихий и приятный район Лондона, в школе предлагается огромное количество экскурсий, после обучения успешно сдал экзамен IELTS.
