Since the school opened its doors in 1999, it has welcomed students from more than 60 different countries to study at The Liverpool School of English. During this time the school has seen thousands of students develop and practise their English language skills in the wonderful city of Liverpool.The school is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building located in Liverpool's knowledge quarter. It is only a short walk from two universities, a cathedral, Liverpool Central Library and many different museums and art galleries.
The school has excellent facilities: 26 classrooms with interactive whiteboards, 3 computer suites, 2 study centres with online resources and a book, CD and DVD lending library, free Wi-Fi hotspots, an onsite coffee shop where you can buy light meals and hot and cold drinks, a common room where you can relax, watch TV, chat, browse the internet and have a hot or cold drink.

The course includes 15 hourse of English per week in international classes of no more than 15 students in any class. The school teachers use a diverse range of teaching methods, including interactive technology to deliver communicative lessons. The lessons are designed to develop reading, listening, speaking and writing skills - functional English that students can use both in and out of the classroom. The students are all provided with a learning journal to keep a record of vocabulary, classwork, individual progress and details of their experiences on activities and excursions.
The Liverpool School of English believes that the friends students make during their stay in Liverpool are as important as the lessons they learn. Social events allow students to practice their English in a natural environment both with other students and with native speakers.
The Liverpool School of English offers an extensive cultural and entertainment program for children. Every day children go to the sightseeing of Liverpool: museums, art galleries, parks and churches; in the evening they are waiting for quizzes, contests, discos, karaoke, talent shows, sports and outdoor games. A day off is dedicated to the exciting tour around London, Chester, Manchester, York or the Lake District.
If you want to fully immerse yourself in English culture then you may enjoy homestay accommodation. You will live with a local family with breakfast and an evening meal included. On Sundays, lunch will also be included.
Most of the homestays are situated in the suburbs and are 20-40 minutes from the city centre by public transport (bus or train).
If you want to live with other students and experience what Liverpool city centre has to offer then you may prefer residence accommodation. You will live in a single room with a shared kitchen and an ensuite bathroom. Residence is self-catering.
