General information

St Raphaela’s School is situated in the neighbourhood of Stillorgan in the quiet residential area with own sports groundon the south side of Dublin city Only 15 minutes by tram to city-centre. St Raphaela’s School is Emerald’s longest running international Summer Centre.

The campus of St. Raphaela's also has some extra facilities: a new Astroturf pitch for hockey and football, outdoor basketball court which can double as tennis courts, 2 indoor badminton courts in the main gym hall.

Programme «Holidays in Dublin»

The course includes 15 lessons of English per week in international classes of no more than 15 students in any class. The school teachers use a diverse range of teaching methods, including interactive technology to deliver communicative lessons. The lessons are designed to develop reading, listening, speaking and writing skills - functional English that students can use both in and out of the classroom. The programme is lively and enjoyable, combining English language tuition with a daily programme of fun and interesting activities.

Activities and excursions

Full afternoon and evening activity programme is organised in St. Raphaela's School. This is the sample of multi-activity programme: city orientation, introduction to Gaelic sports, Emerald chat zone, Introduction& worksheet, visit to Trinity College & The Book of Kells', Irish dancing, workshop, sport/film, visit to GAA museum & Croke park, stadium evening programme and themed disco. The program includes 1 full day excursion (per week) to the valley of Glendalough and Kilkenny Castle and other interesting places.

Accommodation

Homestay with a family gives children the opportunity to experience the English way of life at first hand and to practise English outside the classroom. Families are carefully selected by St. Raphaela's School experienced accommodation manager and are revisited regularly. Most are within easy walking distance of the school (15 or 20 minutes away). Families provide full board for students.
